建院70年来，中建西南院设计完成了万余项工程设计任务，项目遍及全国各省、市、自治区及全球20多个国家和地区，是我国拥有独立涉外经营权并参与众多国外设计任务经营的大型建筑设计院之一。近年来，中建西南院围绕建筑产业链打造，坚持“技术+管理+投资”发展模式，以设计树品牌、以总包创规模、以投资增效益，实现了由分散性、单一性经营向集约化、品牌化的全过程、全产业链经营转轨，在全国同类企业中走在了前列。
