While the first floor follows the axis of the avenue, the upper floor is aligned with the Orangerie to create a perspective and an external public staircase leading to the esplanade below. The challenge was to articulate the building between these two planes. Movement is achieved by linking the upper and lower levels. The base of the conservatory weaves close links with its immediate territory, on a human scale.
