on the alpine meadow by the lake. The design borrows scenery from the surrounding landscape, integrating the beauty of nature with the concept of “the natural flow of the landscape.” It responds to the site’s characteristics through local construction methods, adopting low-intervention ecological restoration strategies and an artistic interpretation of the land’s texture. Through vivid land art, it preserves the memories of the Mosuo people’s intertwined lives of farming, fishing, and herding. The garden retains native plants and incorporates low-maintenance wildflower mixes, exploring a path of rewilding that allows natural succession to become the dominant force shaping the space. The landscape serves as a link between people and nature, the land and Mosuo culture, outlining an ideal vision of poetic dwelling. Lanyond Alpine Lake Retreat is not merely a picturesque scene but a living system with a temporal dimension. This was combined with a mixed sowing of cornflowers, poppies, yarrows, mock strawberries, along with local, low-maintenance wildflowers like Cynoglossum amabile and primroses, allowing the ground layer to regenerate naturally.
