青岛涵碧楼是继日月潭涵碧楼之后，睽违 15 年再度与澳 洲籍建筑大师 Kerry Hill 合作的案子。曾经设计过日月潭涵碧楼 的 Kerry Hill，不但懂得涵碧楼的语言，也了解两者有共同理念。

正所谓「弱水三千，唯取一瓢饮」，在世界各地的出色建筑师中 Kerry Hill 是唯一首选。此次二度应邀为青岛涵碧楼亲自操刀设 计，希望再创造一处酒店业的经典。

自日月潭涵碧楼开始，涵碧楼便创立了“极简”、“禅风”的建筑风格。Kerry Hill 虽是澳洲人， 却深谙东方美学的天人合一之道。细品青岛涵碧楼， 不难发现他用原木、花岗石、玻璃和金属四种自然低调的材料，创造出宛如从自然景 观中“生” 出来的建筑。这种建筑不仅不会因岁月的增加而显得老旧，反而能在岁月的递缮中益发显现其价值。

青岛涵碧楼酒店主楼以海岸线东西方向，采用路面以上 5 层，以下 3 层往下沉的结构，并以两翼为现代垂直收口的剖面，将原来的海岸线几乎垂直崖壁给覆盖了，建筑形态与海岸地形地貌融为一体。

The main building of Qingdao hanbilou hotel takes the east-west direction of the coastline, adopts the structure of five floors above the road and three floors below the road, and takes the two wings as the modern vertical closing section to cover the almost vertical cliffs of the original coastline, and the architectural form is integrated with the coastal landform.

现在眼前所见的青岛涵碧楼，建筑物本身看似简单，但却巧妙与当地景观融为一体，无论客人身处哪一个角落，绝对都能透过用心设计的情境与空间感，在不同的时刻，感受到结合光影与景观的视觉飨宴。
