Italian company Paola Lenti has uniquely developed a 100% polypropylene mesh fabric for their outdoor furniture pieces. With approximately 180 colorful variations, it is a recyclable mono-material that is durable and water-resistant. A furniture collection that breathes new life into the offcuts was newly designed.

得益于聚丙烯较低的熔点，这种网眼面料采用高频热压成型的方法进行层压和粘合，而无需使用缝纫线或胶水等辅助材料。进一步的实验表明，通过调整温度和加热时间，可以使网眼的特定部分硬化，从而增加强度或使光线透过。

Benefitting from the low melting point of polypropylene, the mesh is layered and bonded together using high-frequency thermocompression method instead of secondary materials such as sewing threads and adhesives. Further experimentation revealed that by tweaking the temperature and heating time, specific sections of the mesh can be hardened, thereby increasing strength or allowing light to pass through.

该工艺首先将较大的废料拼接成“基础面料”，然后将剪成相同形状的小废料焊接到基础面料上。这样既增强了表面强度，又通过部分“盲压”处理使面料具有透光性。最后，基础面料被轻柔卷起，边缘焊接在一起，形成一个三维的家具作品。通过单一工艺的多种应用，既增加了新的价值，又保持了网眼面料的平滑质感和高度可回收性。

The process begins by combining relatively large offcuts to create a “base.” Smaller offcuts that have been cut into same shapes are then welded onto the base. While enhancing surface strength, the fabric is partially “blind stamped” to add translucency to lightings. Finally, the base fabric is softly rolled, with the edges welded together to form a three-dimensional furniture piece. By applying a single technique in multiple ways, new values were added without compromising the smooth texture of the mesh and its high recyclability.

When the different colors of fabric remnants unite, there is an unpredictable beauty. It is reminiscent of petals dancing in the wind which continue to grace the season even after falling. The collection “hana-arashi (flower storm)” draws inspiration from such sceneries.
