The Sun Inn project is located in Tiantai Mountain, one of the five birthplaces of the world's sun culture. It is the first high-end boutique B & B in Rizhao City, Shandong Province, with "solar culture" as the core and 12 star times and 24 solar terms as the theme.

太阳客栈位于世界太阳文化五大发源地之一的天台山的北侧，东边与北边临近市政道路，地形西边较陡，东边平缓。设计团队以研究太阳文化为起始，将设计变成一个研究古人宇宙观的大课题，并且深入浅出的融入到游客的度假体验之中。

Project Overview

The Sun Inn is located in the north of Tiantai Mountain, one of the five birthplaces of the world's sun culture. It is close to the municipal road in the East and North. The terrain is steep in the West and gentle in the East. The design team started with the study of the sun culture, turning design into a major topic to study the ancient cosmology, and integrating it into the tourists' vacation experience in simple terms.

在研究大量关于太阳文化的资料后，决定用太阳（黄道）十二宫和十二星次去构筑太阳文明。《史记·太史公自序》中曾记载“夫阴阳四时、八位、十二度、二十四节各有教令。” 太阳运转为历法，自此形成了时间；太阳运转为四季，而有四时轮回，形成农耕文明；日月星辰的宇宙观，构建了社会的生生不息.

After studying a large amount of data about solar culture, I decided to use the solar (zodiac) zodiac and 12 stars to build solar civilization. "Shi Ji Tai Shi Gong Zi Xu" once recorded that "Fu Yin and Yang have orders in four seasons, eight positions, twelve degrees and twenty-four stanzas." The Sun runs as a calendar, and time has been formed since then; The sun operates in four seasons, and there are four seasons of reincarnation, forming an agricultural civilization; The cosmology of the sun, moon and stars constructs the endless growth of society

建筑布局

以大堂为核心，十二间圆形景观房与三十八间标准房在外侧成规则环形布局，内圈为套房，对应十二星次，外圈以标准房、楼梯间与入口，两两一组布局成24个连绵不断的小建筑，对应二十四节气，东侧开口作为建筑的主要入口。整个场地西高东低，设计保留了这一高差条件，保证从入口到客房依次抬高，互不遮挡。建筑依山就势，阶梯状分层三层，每层高差4.2 米，之间有电梯连接，沿山体起伏变化。

With the lobby as the core, 12 circular landscape rooms and 38 standard rooms form a regular circular layout on the outside. The inner circle is a suite, corresponding to 12 stars. The outer circle is a group of standard rooms, staircases and entrances, arranged in pairs into 24 continuous small buildings, corresponding to 24 sections of air. The opening on the east side is the main entrance of the building. The whole site is high in the West and low in the East. The design retains this height difference condition to ensure that it is raised from the entrance to the guest room without blocking each other. The building is built on the mountain, with three layers in ladder shape, and the height difference of each layer is 4.2 meters. There is an elevator connection between them, which fluctuates along the mountain.

材料&体验

Materials & experience

材料主要以石材、涂料、铝板和玻璃为主。外墙以当地石材及仿夯土涂料为饰面，具有古朴的色调和丰富的立面肌理。同种夯土涂料在庭院内侧墙面的连续使用，亦强调了内外空间的延续。

The materials are mainly stone, paint, aluminum plate and glass. The exterior wall is decorated with local stone and rammed earth imitation paint, with ancient colors and rich facade texture. The continuous use of the same rammed earth coating on the inner wall of the courtyard also emphasizes the continuity of the inner and outer space.

从东侧的入口进入，办理入住后通过一条地下长廊搭载尽端的电梯上至大堂，仿佛进入了一个时空隧道，带你走进远古太阳文化的长河。通过大堂可达各层客房，走进屋内，不管是白天还是夜晚，天气好的时候会有光从屋顶天窗倾泻而下，在室内流淌成一条唯有这个时节才有的轨迹。置身其中的游客，自身也好似运行于星轨上的一串星宿，宛若经历了上古部落的奇妙一夜。

Enter from the entrance on the east side. After checking in, take the elevator at the end of an underground corridor to the lobby, as if entering a time and space tunnel, taking you into the long river of ancient solar culture. You can reach the guest rooms on all floors through the lobby. When you enter the house, whether it's day or night, light will pour down from the roof skylight when the weather is good, flowing into a track only in this season. The tourists in it are also like a string of stars running on the orbit, as if they had experienced a wonderful night of ancient tribes.
