Underground Bath House，韩国/建筑

This project is an entry for the international open-idea competition “Borders” organized by Arch Out Loud. The brief challenges designers to explore the possibility to create an underground bath house within the Korean Demilitarized Zone which responds to the surrounding geopolitical conditions.

该项目的灵感来源于韩语单词Sanlimyok（森林浴，指去森林放松和娱乐），它的上下兼有，提供多种方式来享受沐浴体验——游湖、在森林中散步、在亲密空间中进行净化仪式。

Inspired by the Korean word Sanlimyok (forest bathing, which involves visiting a forest for relaxation and recreation), the project doubles itself above and underground, offering multiple ways to enjoy the bathing experience - a swim into a lake, a walk in the forest, a purification ritual in an intimate space.

根据我们的愿景，该网站将成为朝鲜和韩国之间的连接点，游客可以在这里享受自由时间，远离工业噪音和政治紧张。一个圆形的湖泊环绕着一个森林岛，岛上有一个拱形的树冠，这是通往下方热浴的入口。

According to our vision, the site becomes the connecting point between North and South Korea, where visitors can enjoy their free time away from industrial noise and political tension. A round lake surrounds a forest island where an arched canopy lies – the entry point to the thermal bath below.

拱形砖结构产生了一系列具有不同特征（蒸汽、雨水、浴室、放松、光线）的空间，但它们都是由相同的圆形形状（水滴形状）形成的。

Vaulted brick structures generates an array of spaces with different features (steam, rain, bath, relax, light) yet originated by the same round shape: the shape of a water drop.
