The Millennium ginkgo Valley in Luoyang Town, Suizhou is one of the four ancient ginkgo settlements in the world. During the Mid Autumn Festival, golden leaves fly under the ginkgo tree, making it a paradise in the hearts of tourists. The design draws inspiration from it. The tree structure system creates a forest like space. The straight tree structure has the most direct visual connection with the dynamic roof, clearly expressing the logic of structural force transmission.

为了抽象表达出银杏叶片的形态，随州南站采用“伞状单元体”作为主体结构。多个“伞状单元体”构成挺拔的树状结构，联结成一个动态造型的屋面，高低错落的建筑就像交相辉映的古村古树，体现出建筑结构之美。考虑到透光率、漫反射、金色这三个基本功能要素，“伞状单元体”最后采用了ETFE膜结构打造。

In order to abstract express the shape of Ginkgo leaves, Suizhou South Railway Station adopts "umbrella unit" as the main structure. A number of "umbrella shaped units" form a tall and straight tree structure, which is connected to form a dynamic roof. The high and low buildings are like ancient villages and trees, reflecting the beauty of the architectural structure. Considering the three basic functional elements of light transmittance, diffuse reflection and gold color, the "umbrella unit" is finally made of ETFE membrane structure.

设计理念

随州南站从大自然汲取灵感，站房将银杏叶片形态抽象表达，融入“银杏树下”的自然意境。主体结构采用“伞状单元体”，外表覆盖浅黄色表皮，作为形体构成的基本单元，营造森林般的空间，以现代手法展现出“千年银杏，十里画廊”的设计主题。多个“伞状单元体”构成挺拔的树状结构，联结成动态造型屋面，形成宽敞明亮的主体候车空间，两侧以竖向窗格组成的横向体量向外延伸，形成售票与出站空间，高低错落的建筑形象如同古树古村交相辉映，契合随州地区千年银杏谷的地方特色。

Design concept

Inspired by nature, Suizhou South Railway Station abstracts the form of Ginkgo leaves into the natural artistic conception of "under the ginkgo tree". The main structure adopts the "umbrella shaped unit body", which is covered with a light yellow skin. As the basic unit of the body, it creates a forest like space and presents the design theme of "Millennium ginkgo, ten mile Gallery" in a modern way. A number of "umbrella shaped units" form a tall and straight tree structure, which is connected into a dynamic shape roof to form a spacious and bright main waiting space. The horizontal volume composed of vertical panes on both sides extends outward to form a ticket selling and departure space. The high and low architectural images reflect each other like ancient trees and villages, which is in line with the local characteristics of the Millennium ginkgo Valley in Suizhou.

设计参数

截至2019年11月，随州南站站房建筑面积为2万平方米，最多可同时容纳3000人候车。站房屋面膜状结构面积1万余平方米，由24个伞状结构组成，其中每个伞状单元长27米，宽24米，投影面积约648平方米。车站旅客进站天桥宽12米，旅客出站地道宽8米。车站西侧设横列式综合维修车间1座，配线4条。

Design parameters

By november2019, the building area of Suizhou south railway station is 20000 square meters, which can accommodate up to 3000 people waiting at the same time. The facial mask structure of the station house covers an area of more than 10000 square meters and consists of 24 umbrella structures, each of which is 27 meters long, 24 meters wide and has a projected area of about 648 square meters. The passenger entrance overpass is 12m wide and the passenger exit tunnel is 8m wide. One horizontal comprehensive maintenance workshop and four wires are set at the west side of the station.

截至2019年11月，随州南站为线侧平式站房。随州南站主体结构为4层，其中地上3层，地下1层。地面层为到达层，设有出站口和自动售票处；地上二层为出发层和站台层，设有高架落客平台、售票处、进站口；地上三层为候车层，设有检票口和候车区；地下一层为商业服务设施和出租车停车场。

Overall layout

As of november2019, Suizhou south station is a line side flat station building. The main structure of Suizhou south station is 4 floors, including 3 floors above ground and 1 floor underground. The ground floor is the arrival floor, with exit and automatic ticket office; The second floor above the ground is the departure floor and the platform floor, with elevated drop off platform, ticket office and entrance; The three floors above the ground are waiting floors, with ticket gates and waiting areas; The ground floor is for commercial service facilities and taxi parking lot.

随州南站站前广场结构为2层。地面广场通过集散广场、主题雕塑、文化雕塑、休憩廊架、配套设施、景观小品以及多植物搭配方式等形成文化景观广场；地下广场由社会车停车场、换乘区、小型商业服务设施组成，小型商业服务设施结合下沉广场布置。

The ground square forms a cultural landscape square through distribution square, theme sculpture, cultural sculpture, rest rack, supporting facilities, landscape sketches and multi plant collocation; The underground square is composed of social car parking lot, transfer area and small commercial service facilities, which are arranged in combination with the sunken square.
