马銮湾新城位于厦门西翼黄金湾区，横跨海沧、集美两区。总规划面积45平方公里，其中马銮片区37平方公里，前场片区8平方公里。新城集纳山、海、湾、湿地等丰富的自然资源和深厚的人文底蕴，肩负着市委市政府加快实施“跨岛发展”战略的重要使命，2019年9月市城市规划委员会第四次会议原则同意马銮湾新城系列规划方案，为新城的发展锚定了方向，新城以“厦门最温馨湾区”为目标，以“厦门湾两高两化新极点”为定位，规划“一心双廊两湾四岛一门户多节点”，将建设成为厦门湾西翼发展的核心引擎。
