In the middle of the Jin Dynasty, the people of Wuling made a living by fishing. Traveling along the Yuan River, forgetting the distance of the road. Suddenly encountering a peach blossom forest, hundreds of steps across the shore, with no miscellaneous trees in the middle, fragrant grass, and colorful fallen petals. Fishermen are very different. Moving forward, wanting to exhaust the forest. Once the forest reaches its source of water, it leads to a mountain with a small opening, as if illuminated by light. Abandon the boat and enter through the mouth.

Peach blossoms burn the willows, spring colors fill the garden, rain is clear, wind is warm, smoke is light, and mist is faint. In the gentle breeze, thousands of trees compete for glory, and the thick spring colors are enchanting. Standing among the flowers, the fragrance floats, and the beauty is indescribable. In this warm spring season with lush flowers and colorful fallen petals, the opening of the InterContinental Hotel Taiyuan has brought a strong touch of color to these three thousand flowers. It can be said that peach blossoms bloom first in spring, bright and beautiful, which no one can ignore.

作为首家进入中国市场的国际酒店品牌，IHG洲际酒店集团具有悠久文化，至今已发展成为最具全球化并拥有客房数量最多的专业酒店管理集团。酒店设计上IHG洲际集团对尊享品质的高度追求，开发商邀请香港PLD刘波设计顾问对酒店大堂，自助餐厅，宴会厅，泳池，标准客房等主要空间区域进行重新设计。设计时间紧迫，并需要考虑诸多因素的协调，融合之前的设计空间，对PLD来说，充满了挑战。

As the first international hotel brand to enter the Chinese market, IHG InterContinental Hotels Group has a long culture and has developed into the most globalized and professional hotel management group with the largest number of guest rooms. IHG InterContinental Group's high pursuit of premium quality in hotel design has led the developer to invite Hong Kong PLD design consultant Liu Bo to redesign the main spatial areas such as the hotel lobby, buffet restaurant, banquet hall, swimming pool, and standard guest rooms. The design time is tight and coordination of various factors needs to be considered. Integrating the previous design space is full of challenges for PLD.

太原洲际酒店位于龙城太原的长风商务区腹地，是太原经济、政治、文化的核心交汇区域，酒店俯瞰整个CBD与汾河景观。酒店地处城市快速路主干线中心地带，畅享便捷交通，毗邻多元生活品位的商业中心，以及山西省国际会展中心、太原美术馆、太原博物馆、山西省大剧院等多个展馆中心。酒店拥有330间客房，31间套房。近1500平方米的一流宴会设施以及5个多功能会议室的会议中心。

The InterContinental Hotel Taiyuan is located in the hinterland of Changfeng Business District in Longcheng Taiyuan, which is the core intersection area of Taiyuan's economy, politics, and culture. The hotel overlooks the entire CBD and Fen River landscape. The hotel is located in the center of the main urban expressway, enjoying convenient transportation and adjacent to the commercial center with diverse lifestyles, as well as multiple exhibition centers such as Shanxi International Convention and Exhibition Center, Taiyuan Art Museum, Taiyuan Museum, and Shanxi Grand Theater. The hotel has 330 guest rooms and 31 suites. A conference center with nearly 1500 square meters of first-class banquet facilities and 5 multifunctional meeting rooms.

山西太原，文化兴废表征的一座城，厚蓄着一种文脉，回旋着一种气势。PLD设计理念以表里山河，唯山西，天赋自然，晋善晋美为贯穿。沟壑成川，自成美景。唯天然之作，不可负。简约构图意化，犹若一幅《古城夕照》穿越尘埃从缓缓时光中留驻。

Taiyuan, Shanxi, is a city that represents the rise and fall of culture, with a rich cultural context and a swirling momentum. The PLD design philosophy is based on the principles of mountains and rivers, only Shanxi, natural talent, and the beauty of Shanxi. Gullies form rivers, creating their own beautiful scenery. Only natural works cannot be underestimated. The simple and expressive composition is like a painting of 'Sunset in the Ancient City', passing through the dust and lingering in the slow time.

“山光凝翠，川容如画，名都自古并州”。刘波先生认为，文化沉淀价值需要从历史文化空间变迁中找到归属感和认同感，通过合理组织构筑，从而建立起独特历史空间意象来表达艺术风格所产生的魅力。

The mountains are lush and verdant, the rivers are picturesque, and the famous capital has been Bingzhou since ancient times. Mr. Liu Bo believes that the value of cultural sedimentation needs to find a sense of belonging and identity from the changes in historical and cultural space, and through reasonable organization and construction, establish a unique historical spatial image to express the charm of artistic style.

自然勾勒，以山为型。取其山脉形态，层叠多变意化为设计元素。动感十足，形态优美。搭配金属质感，不失雍容华贵之姿，透过肌理传达出细腻之美。表面凹凸肌理，精心雕刻后呈现出一种历经沧桑而又内敛脱俗的气质。在功能上PLD重新规划了大堂平面布局，优化了通往各区域的交通动线，使之较之前更开阔，使用功能更趋向合理。

Natural outline, shaped by mountains. Taking its mountain form, layering and transforming it into design elements. Dynamic and graceful in form. Paired with a metallic texture, it exudes a graceful and luxurious appearance, conveying delicate beauty through its texture. The surface has a textured texture that, after careful carving, presents a refined and introverted temperament that has gone through many vicissitudes. In terms of functionality, PLD has re planned the layout of the lobby and optimized the transportation routes to various areas, making it more spacious and functional than before.

太原拥有“三面环山、一水中分”独特的大自然格局，美，在山，在树，在水，引得古今多少文人骚客不吝溢美之词，美出李商隐“介山当驿秀，汾水绕关斜”，美出范仲淹“千家灌禾稻，满目江南田”，美出欧阳修“晋水今入并州里，稻花漠漠浇平田”，美出郭沫若“远望太原气势雄，汾河两岸稻田丰。”其山水环境赋予其独特的城市性格。人类理想生存环境是“山水聚落”山水形胜，物产丰富。设计上意象山水主题贯穿整个酒店空间，山形水势形象表述，简单流畅的曲线形态，搭配暖色调配色，生动呈现了物产丰富鱼米之乡的传统生活图景。

Taiyuan has a unique natural pattern of "surrounded by mountains on three sides and separated by water on one side". Its beauty lies in the mountains, trees, and water, which has attracted many literati and poets from ancient and modern times to praise it. It is famous for Li Shangyin's "beautiful post station on the mountain, and the Fen River winding around the pass", Fan Zhongyan's "thousands of households irrigating rice, filling the fields of Jiangnan", Ouyang Xiu's "Jin River entering Bingzhou now, rice flowers irrigating the flat fields in the desert", and Guo Moruo's "magnificent view of Taiyuan from afar, with abundant rice fields on both sides of the Fen River". Its unique urban character is endowed by its landscape environment. The ideal living environment for humans is a "mountain and water settlement" with beautiful scenery and abundant resources. In terms of design, the theme of mountains and rivers runs through the entire hotel space, expressing the imagery of mountains and waters. The simple and smooth curve shape, combined with warm color matching, vividly presents the traditional living scene of a land of abundant resources and fish and rice.

较之前的设计，PLD敞开式布局设计让餐厅显得更加现代和开放。整体布局动线疏密有致，开阔的视野和用餐环境，提升了食物对客人的诱惑和味蕾的吸引。人文和自然和谐搭配，景观价值凸显。

Compared to previous designs, the PLD open layout design makes the restaurant appear more modern and open. The overall layout has a well arranged flow, with a wide view and dining environment, enhancing the attraction of food to customers and taste buds. The harmonious combination of culture and nature highlights the value of the landscape.

山泼黛，水挼蓝，翠相搀。宴会厅契合了天有时，地有气，材有美，工有巧的特性体现了仪式感，序列感，庄严而不失典雅，浪漫而不失内涵，空灵美感的画面跃然而现。春意盎然，明丽夺人，娇羞灿漫，异彩纷呈，灿烂若锦，似千万支丹彩映照着融融春日，醉了多少春红。“风暖仙源里，春和水国中。流莺应见落，舞蝶未知空。”

PLD对整体客房在原有基础上进行升级改观，使得客房布局较为开放，有更好的采光，洗手间与房间更好的互动关系，加入时尚设计元素，使得现代感得到大大提升。

PLD has upgraded and improved the overall guest rooms on the basis of the original design, making the room layout more open, with better lighting, better interaction between the bathroom and the room, and adding fashionable design elements, greatly enhancing the sense of modernity.

色彩上取晋商宅院建筑构造和色彩，飞檐重彩，将其色，融合地域人文艺术情怀，平面印象后的建筑影像，戏观沉浮。艺术品摆设选取了中国四大名漆之一传世工艺，山西推光漆，漆韵弥新，着其雅，古朴雅致与细腻辉煌共生。藉此工艺，勾勒新派艺术视野。

In terms of color, the architectural structure and color of Jin merchants' courtyards are taken, with heavy colors on the eaves. The colors are integrated with regional humanistic and artistic feelings, and the architectural image after the planar impression is reflected in the ups and downs of the play. The art decoration selected one of the four famous lacquers in China, Shanxi Tuguang Lacquer, which is a timeless craft. The lacquer has a unique and elegant charm, coexisting with simplicity, elegance, delicacy, and brilliance. Through this technique, outline the new artistic vision.
