The first case of the construction plan is the Su Shanghai Community Art Museum located in lane 1088, Yuyuan Road. It is jointly built by LiuHaisu Art Museum, creator Chuangyi and architect zhanghaiao, and supported by Jindi Huadong. The community art museum is not a cold art exhibition space, but hopes to present, narrate and convey more warm community history, urban spirit and humanistic care through art and interaction.

愚园路是上海64条永不拓宽马路的其中一条，百年里弄，文人故居，它们以独特的风貌散布在这条历史保护街区上。在这里，我们遇见了本次改造的主人公，一栋位于宏业花园小区内的建筑，建筑前身是上海医药职工大学的教学楼，由于校址搬迁，现处于闲置状态，这样一栋建筑通过设计师的改造将会产生怎样的变化呢，现在还不得而知。

Yuyuan Road is one of the 64 roads in Shanghai that will never be widened. For hundreds of years, it has been the former residence of scholars. They are scattered in this historical protection block with unique features. Here, we met the protagonist of this transformation, a building located in Hongye Garden community. The former building was the teaching building of Shanghai medical staff University. Due to the relocation of the school site, it is now idle. How such a building will change through the transformation of the designer is still unknown.

在开始设计前，首先要对场地有足够的了解，建筑由外渗透进小区内部，周边城市机理紧凑排布，北面9幢为联列式假三层花园洋房，南面为独立花园式住宅，所在园区现为创邑SPACE联合办公空间，东面为久安坊，旧式上海里弄，场地周边的每一栋建筑都能讲述一段故事，走在愚园路上能够很深切的体会到历史在这里留下的印记。设计师多次来到现场考察，在考察过程中发现的问题以及对社区文化的思考成为了后续方案中最核心的部分。

Before starting the design, it is necessary to have a sufficient understanding of the site. The buildings penetrate into the community from the outside, and the surrounding cities are arranged in a compact way. Nine buildings in the north are in-line fake three-story garden houses, and the south is an independent garden house. The park is now the joint office space of Chuangyi space, and the East is Jiu'An square and the old Shanghai Lane. Every building around the site can tell a story, Walking on the Yuyuan Road, we can deeply understand the imprint of history here. The designer has visited the site for many times, and the problems found during the investigation and the thinking on community culture have become the core part of the follow-up plan.

第一次去到现场的时候发现并没有想象中的那么美好，当时在做建筑外墙装饰，现场堆放了很多的建筑材料，所以并不能看到建筑全貌，勘察后的第一印象是房子很旧，结构上存在问题；室内面宽有限且宽度不统一，墙体和柱子都是非标准尺寸，这导致后期做方案的时候需要不断到现场复尺。

When I went to the site for the first time, I found that it was not as beautiful as I imagined. At that time, I was doing building exterior wall decoration, and there were a lot of building materials stacked on site, so I couldn't see the full picture of the building. My first impression after the survey was that the house was very old and there were structural problems; The width of the indoor surface is limited and not uniform, and the walls and columns are non-standard sizes, which leads to the need to constantly go to the site for re scaling when making plans in the later stage.

田野调研：社区里形形色色的人，有依旧坚持做手艺的鞋匠师傅，有从小就生活在这里的居民，门口的保安大哥，他们对于将要在这里建造美术馆感到非常期待，在他们印象中，美术馆是只有专业人士才能去的地方，现在可以如此近距离的接触到艺术，对周边居民而言，将会是一种全新的风景线。但同时他们也有自己的顾虑，是否足够亲民，对周围居民的生活是否会产生不良影响。

Field research: there are all kinds of people in the community, including shoemaker masters who still insist on doing crafts, residents who have lived here since childhood, and the security guard at the gate. They are very looking forward to building an art museum here. In their impression, the art museum is a place that only professionals can go. Now they can have such close access to art, which will be a new scenic spot for the surrounding residents. But at the same time, they also have their own concerns about whether it is close enough to the people and whether it will have a negative impact on the lives of the surrounding residents.

对此，设计师给出的答案是，粟上海美术馆的定位首先就是它的社区性，它的存在就是为了将艺术带入到百姓的生活中，其次，它是一个完全开放式的展览空间，欢迎各个年龄阶层的人来此参观，粟上海美术挂将抛弃以往高大上的标签，以一种接地气的姿态扎根于百姓生活中，设计师希望的是做一个有温度的设计，为钢铁城市带去一抹色彩。

In this regard, the designer gave the answer that the orientation of Su Shanghai Art Museum is first of all its community nature. Its existence is to bring art into the lives of the people. Secondly, it is a fully open exhibition space. People of all ages are welcome to visit here. Su Shanghai Art Museum will abandon the label of being tall in the past and take root in the lives of the people with a grounded attitude, The designer hopes to make a design with temperature and bring a touch of color to the steel city.
