乌镇大剧院设计从并蒂莲意念生发，一虚一实的两个椭圆巧妙结合，交替重叠处便是公用舞台空间，在满足空间机能需求的同时也蕴含了喜庆蓬勃的意义。剧院外部以厚重京砖及老船木冰裂窗棂装饰，古朴沧桑的外观与历史悠久的江南水乡小镇相映成辉。一个具备了最现代化功能的剧院与1300年的江南古镇和谐共存，大剧院以她的绰约风姿赢得了“梦剧场”的美誉。

The design of Wuzhen Grand Theater is based on the idea of juxtaposition. The two ellipses of one virtual and one real are ingeniously combined. The overlapping space is the public stage space, which not only meets the functional requirements of the space, but also contains the meaning of festivity and prosperity. The exterior of the theater is decorated with thick Beijing bricks and old ship wood ice cracked window lattices. The ancient and vicissitudes of the appearance and the long history of the Jiangnan water town reflect each other. A theater with the most modern functions coexists harmoniously with the 1300 year old Jiangnan Ancient Town. The Grand Theater has won the reputation of "Dream Theater" for its graceful demeanor.

乌镇大剧院为综艺使用，内部主要为可容纳约1200座提供综艺演出的乙等中型剧场及600座多功能厅，以及相应的配套设施。为满足发展需求，配合相关活动使乌镇成为国际重要戏剧节重镇之一。造型上分为东西两个部分，东侧主要以砖砌斜墙作为外部装修材料，表现大块的体量感；西侧以LOW-E中空玻璃、铝料、木头百叶等组成幕墙系统，以表现透亮感为主。

Wuzhen Grand Theater is used for variety, and its interior is mainly a Class B medium-sized theater that can accommodate about 1200 variety performances and 600 multi-function halls, as well as corresponding supporting facilities. In order to meet the needs of development, Wuzhen has become one of the major cities of international drama festivals in cooperation with relevant activities. The shape is divided into two parts: the east part and the west part. The east side mainly uses the brick inclined wall as the external decoration material to show the massive sense of volume; The curtain wall system on the west side is composed of LOW-E insulating glass, aluminum material, wood louvers, etc., which mainly displays the sense of transparency.

本案位于江南水乡梦境似的古镇，乌镇。乌镇管理者将乌镇设定为国际重要戏剧节的活动据点。为了实现这个愿景，乌镇大剧院的设计委託了姚仁喜建筑师及其团队，设计的最大挑战在于剧院的两个剧场：1,200席的主剧院及600座的多功能剧场，背对背，满足现代剧场机能却又不显突兀的溶入于这片古典精巧的水乡。设计应用的代表吉兆的“并蒂莲”的隐喻，将这个寓意祥瑞蓬勃的形象，转化为一实一虚的两个椭圆量体，分别配置以两座剧场，重叠并蒂的部份则为舞台区，舞台可依需求合并或单独利用，以创造多样的表演形式。

This case is located in Wuzhen, an ancient dreamlike town in the south of the Yangtze River. The administrator of Wuzhen set Wuzhen as the stronghold of an important international drama festival. In order to realize this vision, the design of Wuzhen Grand Theater has entrusted architect Yao Renxi and his team. The biggest challenge of the design lies in the two theatres of the theater: the main theater with 1200 seats and the multi-function theater with 600 seats. Back-to-back, it meets the functions of the modern theater, but it does not suddenly dissolve into this classical and exquisite water town. The design and application of the metaphor of "paratilan", which represents auspicious omen, transforms this auspicious and vigorous image into two elliptical volumes, one real and one virtual, which are respectively configured with two theatres, and the overlapping part is the stage area. The stage can be combined or used separately as required to create a variety of performance forms.

而由于兼具戏剧节表演与观光的双重机能，剧院将满足不同形式的使用需求，提供包括传统戏曲、前卫表演艺术、时尚舞台秀、婚宴喜庆等活动的空间。

Because of the dual functions of performing and sightseeing in the theater festival, the theater will meet the needs of different forms of use, providing space for activities including traditional opera, avant-garde performing arts, fashion stage shows, weddings and festivities.

访客搭乘乌蓬船或经由栈桥步行到达剧院。多功能剧场位于建筑右侧，一片砌上京砖的斜牆，宛如花瓣层迭，包围出剧场的前厅空间；西侧的大剧院则以清透光亮的量体展现对比，折屏式的玻璃帷幕，外侧披覆一圈传统样式窗花，在夜晚泛出的幽幽光影反射在水面上，为如梦似幻的水乡增添另一番风情。

Visitors take the Wupeng boat or walk to the theatre through the trestle. The multi-function theater is located on the right side of the building, with a sloping wall built with Beijing bricks, which is like a layer of petals, surrounding the front room space of the theater; The grand theater on the west side displays the contrast with clear and bright volume. The folding screen glass curtain is covered with a circle of traditional window decorations on the outside. The faint light and shadow reflected on the water at night adds another style to the dreamlike water town.

剧院已于2013年5月完工，同时揭开首届乌镇国际戏剧艺术节序幕，并且被誉为中国最美丽的剧院。

The theatre was completed in May 2013, and the first Wuzhen International Theatre Art Festival was also opened, and it was honored as the most beautiful theatre in China.
