Barcelona, November 2025. The Fundació Mies van der Rohe presents Diàlegs amb la Natura, an artistic intervention by Regina Saura and Rita Roqueta that proposes a reflection on the relationship between art, nature and technology. The work, which can be visited from 21 November to 9 December 2025, coinciding with the XIII Barcelona International Landscape Biennial, invites visitors to immerse themselves in a dialogue that unites the delicacy of painting, digital innovation and the evocative force of the natural landscape.

From the Pavilion as a meeting point between art and architecture, Saura and Roqueta propose an intervention that transfers what were once lines on paper to volumes, shadows and real movements.

As the artists explain: “The project was born from a very deep emotion. On the day the forest next to our house burned, that devastated landscape spoke to us of the fragility and inevitable force of life. From that experience arose the exhibition project Del fuego nacerás, a work on destruction and rebirth that later gave rise to Diàlegs amb la Natura.”

The space of the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion has been transformed into a stage where nature and architecture engage in a harmonious dialogue through elements such as the floating of leaves on the water, deformed shadows, ephemeral clouds and transparencies in the glass. With handmade paper from the Capellades Paper Museum, translucent materials, acrylic pigments and varnishes, pieces have been created that float on the pond or hang lightly, generating a moving landscape that changes with light, wind and the passage of time. During the day, shadows and transparencies project a forest of messages inside the Pavilion; and at night, for two special days, this forest is projected onto the wall of the outer lake, multiplying in its reflection.

The intervention invites the public to interact with it. From the Bosc dels Missatges (Forest of Messages), the artists propose to send a word or a thought that is symbolically incorporated into the installation, creating a collective forest of light. “It is a way of using technology to bring us closer to nature rather than distancing us from it: to make the invisible visible, to make human connection tangible through art and space,” the artists affirm.

The entire assembly has been solved in a non-invasive way, without modifying or drilling the structure of the Pavilion, using magnetic tapes, threads and small weights so that the pieces can move freely. The light painted by Regina Saura through colour filters and the musical sounds of Gad Sans create an enveloping atmosphere that changes according to the time of day. The result is a work that combines craftsmanship, architecture and technology in balance, respecting the essence of the place and enhancing its natural magic.

This artistic intervention not only celebrates the uniqueness of the Pavilion, but also seeks to raise awareness about the preservation of nature and the need to reconnect with it in an increasingly digitised and accelerated world.
